Black History Month-Mahalia Jackson

But I want to continue articles for Black History Month.

So here are the lyrics for Precious Lord, Take My Hand.

It was written by Thomas A Dorsey, discussed in our first article of Black History Month.

The great gospel singer Mahalia Jackson sang this, and her recording of this song was a favorite of Dr. Martin Luther King.

Mahalia Jackson was considered the greatest r and b singer that never was, she persisted in singing religious music her whole life.
