Air Force Announces Results of Investigation Into Runaway Runway Nukes

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071020/ap_on_go_ca_st_pe/nuclear_mistake

I know people at least one retired military employee that isn't buying the official story for the recently reported story about nuclear missiles being discovered on a B-52 flown from from Minot in North Dakota to Barksdale in Louisiana without anyone noticing the mistake for more than a day.

The missiles were supposed to be taken to Louisiana, but the warheads were supposed to have been removed beforehand.

Other sources report government witnesses leaking that the missiles were enroute to the Middle East, one of the cruise missiles was found to be missing and that the order to send this came from very high up in government circles. The trouble came when the Air Force refused to do it.

The doubt of the official story in the way I see it has to do with the way that nuclear missiles are transported and treated. Very carefully, is my understanding.

The story I've linked to makes it seem that the responsible parties just forgot to follow procedure. Doesn't quite make sense that 70 military personnel would be so absent-minded to put their jobs at risk for simply overlooking nuclear transport detail.

Very strange days indeed.

The idea that they willingly refused to follow orders and the resultant firings makes more sense to me, anyway.
