"National Security and Homeland Security Presidential Directive

Last night, the popular radio show Coast to Coast with host George Noory had a special guest on the show Jerome Corsi. Corsi announced that on May 9th, President Bush quietly passed the "National Security and Homeland Security Presidential Directive." without any Congressional review and without even any kind of a press release.

Corsi explained that it is designated NSPD-51, as a National Security Presidential Directive, and HSPD-20, as a Homeland Security Presidential Directive, establishes under the office of president a new National Continuity Coordinator.

Corsi states that it basically ensures that the President can have any and all powers if he determines that there is a national emergency.

The directive also establishes a senior director from the Homeland Security Council Staff to run a Continuity Policy Coordination Committee to address "the main day-to-day forum for such policy coordination."

Frances Fragos Townsend is the current assistant to the President for Homeland Security.

Corsi stated that it appears that this new directive supersedes the previously drafter National Emergency Act which set up Congress as the power to balance the office of President in this situation.
